Nas To Release "Lost Tapes 2" And Posthumous Pimp C Album On Mass Appeal Records

Nas' newly-launched Mass Appeal Records imprint will release a compilation of the rapper's unreleased material, as well as a posthumous Pimp C album featuring production from Mike WiLL Made It and DJ Mustard.

When Nas' contract with Def Jam runs out later this year, it appears that the veteran MC won't be without a label to call home. As previously reported, Nas will launch Mass Appeal Records, and now it seems like he'll be releasing projects on the label too.
Billboard reports that the Queens MC will be releasing a compilation of unreleased material entitled Lost Tapes 2, as well as a posthumous Pimp C album, on the newly-founded label. Along with a mixtape featuring Future, Pusha T, Mac Miller, A$AP Mob and Nas himself, those projects will make up mass Appeal Records' first releases.
Nas told Biilboard, "I'm excited to be a part of creating and supporting future careers and legacy artists, promoting love and finding new genius to help the world. I'm going to be as involved as I need to be, but I also want to be respectful of the art and give artists the space they need to grow and become themselves."
The label, which was co-founded by former Decon Records boss Peter Bittenbender, will be a sister company to Mass Appeal magazine, and will be distributed by Sony's RED imprint. According to Billboard, its first signees are Boldy James (after much speculation), 17-year-old New York rapper Bishop Nehru and Fashawn.
